Simulations are in our future

 Hello everyone,

Thanks for joining me on this journey in the exploration of simulations.  These discussions have enabled me to see various points of view on this topic and conduct research in areas that I was not familiar with.  I would like to discuss the future of simulation today. The vast improvements made daily in technology have made it possible to bring simulation into education very quickly.  With virtual reality joining in, the experience of a simulation can be even more realistic.  This enables individuals to engage their psychomotor and cognitive skills, improving the memorization of actions they would take.

Trade schools are taking advantage of simulators because it is practical and cost-effective over time.  Over time, I say the initial cost of equipment and software is high, depending on the simulator.  It also depends on how involved the individual's tasks are and how much feedback and interaction it is built to provide.

The areas currently using simulations are also due to expand because of these technological advances and demands.  Not only the medical, aviation, business, or manufacturing will be in demand for these simulators.  As we covered in earlier blogs, analysts use simulators to forecast events by inputting data about trends and can provide outputs that can benefit the distribution of products and services.

What does this all mean?  It means that you should buckle in and enjoy the ride because there is a simulator that will be coming to you soon, in your job, or in your classrooms.

  1. Walt,

I agree with you that the advances in technology are only going to increase the usage of platforms like VR, AR, and simulations. In most cases, maybe all of them combined and in a classroom setting. These types of technologies are only going to benefit the next generation of learners and it would only make us become more obsolete in our way of learning - my way of saying that we are getting old. Anyway, great post this week.
